I did not post on the last two comics, I was resting and recovering from my Comic Con experience and I hope to share some of those pictures soon.
It’s been about 10 years since the last Starcraft game (Brood Wars) came out and now Blizzard has finally released their much awaited product with all new shiny new features! Oh wait, its essentially the same game except requires a ton more system resources. It’s been quite an ordeal in getting this game to work and after a couple of hours of playing, I won’t be upgrading my rig to play it on the big screen.
Blizzard, knew what they were doing when they included achievements and “custom” type maps called challenges along with a personal choice of campaign awards and not map specific perks.
The only annoying thing about the game is connectivity, if you can’t get online from when you open the box you can’t install the game or even play single player without your Battlenet account. Also gone are the days of LAN party games on your home network… You have to submit to Battlenet to actually get this game running and if you want to play with other people you need to be online and not just on the same network.
I haven’t played the single player campaign all the way through, but I can tell its going to eat up a lot of hours trying to beat the game to see the story unfold and then playing it all over again to get the different upgrades and then there’s getting achievements. The practice League for multiplayer is a good place to learn the units without it affecting your score while the actual game play is definitely a lot faster than the original.
I’m pretty sure the comic is about how this game hates not being the center of your attention. If you aren’t talking about the game or are talking to someone who isn’t talking about the game or even thinking about the game then your world is meaningless… Right Blizzard? They know what YOU the audience wants, just ask World of Warcraft players and their “healthy” relationship with leading a productive life outside of the game world.
