When I read the script, I pictured guys in costumes representing each object. After some discussion on how to deliver the joke, we decided on the final image. These sketches are all digital, I didn’t draw on paper at all for this. I really need to practice just drawing on the computer rather than just “tracing” my scanned pencils. The positive of drawing straight on the computer and skipping the sketchbook is that I save more time doing so. Without as much mileage on drawing on the computer versus drawing on paper my hands can’t produce the same fluid motion. It just takes more practice, hours and hours of practice…
I may do a write up about exercises I learned for making your hands and mind draw more loosely. For now, you can compare the two different deliveries for the same script.
