Leaking Disgust

I’m really interested in facial expressions from the structure of someone’s face and the capabilities of a person’s muscles and their ability to move various parts of their face to convey a feeling or an idea. Of course a cartoon will exaggerate these features more than an actual face, but thats because a lot of the time the expressions are too subtle to capture with a simplified drawing most especially in cartooning. Sorry for the bland beginning.

Go to the mirror and see how many ways you can contort your face to various expressions of anger or happiness, it seems like both of these expressions can be shown in different ways. If you can’t think of many types of feelings, maybe you’re just a robot. If you are a robot, then please do all the day to day tasks for me such as TPS reports and bathing and brushing my teeth. I get really tired just brushing my teeth. Okay, you got me, I don’t brush my teeth…. thanks Robot, for nothing.

Nothing beats just practicing faces and expressions than just staring at yourself, it may also help if you are narcissistic. Of course you can’t just stare at yourself, you’ve also go to draw. I think everyone has the capacity to draw, it just takes more time for others to get a handle on muscle memorization to draw things “easily.” If you draw something 100 times, you’re probably going to be much better at it than when you first started or at least you’ll have made up your own shortcuts to do it in less time and less effort.
